31 Flavors!!!!!

31 weeks and counting!  We had a lovely Memorial Day playing at the Vancouver downtown park.  We also went and got ice cream in Alberta at Salt and Straw, again.  I just can't get enough of that stuff,  this time we had the Coffee with Coacoa Nibs.  Then we had a BBQ in our backyard and roasted sausages and marshmallows.

So this week was a little better with the heart burn and throwing up.  Yay!  I only have 4 more weeks of work ( Thank God)  It is getting really hard to work in a kitchen for long hours and heavy lifting and moving like a jack rabbit.  But soon I will get a wonderful break for a whole year.  I have been finally craving sweets so I have been packing on the pounds lately, 13 pounds so far gained.  Lets hope it doesn't get to much higher.  We went and got all the stuff for Jaspers home birth,  Boy does it cost a lot to have a home birth not to mention the Midwives but all the supplies you need.  Luckily we save our pennies.  I have been working on his quilt and knitting a small welcome blanket for him all while watching Game of Thrones.  Such a great show to get things done.  Well that is all I have to say this week.  In 2 weeks is my Baby shower in Bend so I am super excited.

1st Mothers Day as a Mom!!!

Happy Mothers Day!!!

Wow it is so surreal that I am a Mother,  well in the sense that I am carrying our little Fox and doing the best I can to get him the best nutrition and be as healthy as he can be.  I guess I thought I would look different.  Anyways, we had a wonderful weekend with my parents.  They have been visiting so much and it is so nice to have them see me grow.  We went to my restaurant  for Mothers Day Brunch, which was really nice but as always awkward to eat where you work.  Then afterwards we went to Salt & Straw ( the best Ice cream in the world, even Oprah approve's)  I had the Monkey ice cream with spiced caramel and walnuts,  my Mom had the Rhubarb with the anise crumbles and my Dad had the Praline caramel.  Oh boy was it a treat.  After that we had a wonderful walk  through the Vancouver Farmers Market.  It was so nice to spend Mothers day with my Mom, who means the world to me and I hope I am half of the mother she is.  Later on we relaxed and had a BBQ in our backyard for Dinner.  Thanks Mom and Dad for coming to visit!

So I am 30 weeks this week.  Very exciting I only have 10 more weeks to go maybe less and hopefully not more.  After last week with the Midwives,  they put me on a heavy heart burn medicine and Valerian Root to help me actually sleep.  They seem to be working,  which is super great.  Jasper has been kicking my ribs ( which really hurt by the way)  but he is moving and jumping like crazy.  His head is down now so it looks as if he won't be breeched.  We finally got our Birth Supply list for our Home Birth.  We really need to get a lot to have a baby at home.  Oh well,  it is super exciting though.  Jasper is super healthy and we are very thankful for that.

Hope you all have a wonderful week and I should be blogging every week now.

I went to the Valhrona Carmelia Demo Today.  It was incredible and I learned so much especially since Derek Poirier was teaching.  We sampled so many amazing desserts and had an incredible lunch.

Thanks Valhrona for your free demos.

The 3rd and Final Lap!

So here we are 3rd Trimester and still room to grow.
We recently on what we are calling our "Baby Moon"  to Seattle.  It was our last bug opportunity to go somewhere at a couple before all the Hustle and Bustle of the Summer.   We had a wonderful time up there staying with our friends Jennifer and JJ. While there  we saw such sights as Pikes Place, The Gum Wall, The Fremont Troll, The Locks and Alki Beach.   It was the 50th Anniversary of the Space Needle so in honor they had the top painted traffic cone Orange,  The original color,  if you can believe it.  It was nice being back in the area we use to live in 2006.  We really miss that City, and it will always hold a special place in our hearts.  Can't wait to take Jasper there some day.
I would really like to say my pregnancy is going well, but the truth is that it has been rough at times.  Probably my biggest challenge has been my Heart Burn.  I had been Suppressing the discomfort with Tums, Pep to Bismol and Papaya Enzymes,  but Matthew our Friend pointed out that Antacids could prevent my body from absorbing all the nutrients from food and vitamins.  I am attempting to go off of them and change my diet for anything that can trigger an attack.   Nevertheless,  Joshua and I have been so thrilled to feel Jasper Kicking about inside of me.  We've been having a fun time putting his room together,  I just completed his crib and it looks awesome.  Also we went to the Portland Flower market and I got a bunch of moss and stumps and air plants for his whimsical room.  All we need to do is make that Mobile with the cool stuff I bought.  Enjoying the Portland Sun and hoping for smooth sailing in this third and last trimester!
Love you all!!!
