37 weeks and the heat is on!!!

37 Weeks!!!!  Wow is it getting close.  Jasper is growing like crazy in my belly and moving all around. I am feeling great besides a bit tired and swollen.  I really love this time and really love my body.  I feel so womanly and connected with myself and Jasper.  It is also great to have this giant belly,  I know it sounds weird but I really love looking in the mirror and just seeing how incredible the human body can be and I find it really sexy.  Thankfully so does Joshua.  I have always loved who I was but could always improve but now with all the belly bumps, kankles, and no ability to shave my legs on my own I really love this period of my life.  

My parents are here!!  Voa Voa and VoVo came (there new names for Jasper.  They mean Grandma and Grandpa in portuguese)  We were joking with my Dad that he would be Pee Paw, cause he didn't want to be VoVo but he'd rather be Vo Vo than Pee Paw.   Joshua's Parents will be Grammy and Grampy Cady.   So when my parents got here we had to go for ice-cream.  So we went to Salt and Straw and it was delicious and well worth the wait.  We had a great weekend going to Farmers Markets and the Waterfront and just spending time with them before Jasper gets here.  They will be back on Thursday to fly out to California for a couple days.  I really hope Jasper doesn't come then cause my Mom is on my Birth Team and my dad needs to be here for craving runs.  

Our BioDynamic Birthing Class with Amanda!!!!

So we finally did it we were able to schedule a Birthing class.  Since I am super close and Jasper can come any day now we thought it would be great if we could get prepared for our home birth.  Amanda was so incredible amazing she gave us a private class at our home and went over everything from birth to postpartum.  I had doubts before  that I was going to be able to birth at home and have the strength to do it but after our 4 hour class I feel extremely prepared and strong.  We know our Midwives will be there to lead me and guide me to a natural healthy childbirth.  She gave us so many tools to give birth.  My birth team is of course Joshua and my Mother.  My dad will probably be on a bike ride then come over after Jasper is born.  I am looking forward to experiencing this amazing right of passage to Motherhood and digging deep to find my inner strength.  I do have a high thresh hold for pain but this will be in new experience for me and the end result I know will be well worth it.  Thank you so much Amanda, YOU ROCKED!!!!

A Day at the Waterfront!

We had such a great time with my parents in Downtown Portland.  We went to Newport Seafood Grill and had a great lunch and then walked forever in the heat and enjoyed listening to the Portland Blues festival.  It was a magical day in Portland which seems to be continuing throughout the week.  Thanks Mom and Dad for coming to visit it is always a pleasure.
