We Are Three

It is the life I love within you, both the new life and the old

The way you strive to find a virtue in a story seldom told

It is the curve apon your belly, the serenity you smile

Your tender touch I yearn for much, and holding our dear child

A new year lay before us pregnant with possibilities

Though there is nothing that is certain there is no need for unease

For we have come to learn, my darling, we stand bolder side by side

And if it be that we are three then stronger we shall fight

Let us awaken to a sunrise that’s more brilliant than before

Let us look upon a new day that was created to explore

For times not slipping by, oh no, just approaching with great haste

And we must do our best, embrace it with the firmest of embrace 

A woodland creature knows just one thing, to find shelter from a storm

Stay close to the ones you love and they will surely keep you warm

For if these clouds cause darkness, my sweetheart, come inside, come inside

And if it be that we are three, we are one flame, we are one light

Make a pilgrimage to the new world where rivers don’t run dry

Where the soil’s rich and fertile and so bountiful with life

It is the curve upon the mountain, the serenity of the sky

Your house shall bore an open door with wonders wide inside

A new year in this new land with a new life in our midst 

Fragile heart with fragile hand by gentle touch and tender kiss

For we have come this far, my dear wife, with hopes and dreams to guide

And if it be that we are three than these virtues shall abide
